My Approach

Your Life as A System

Studies show that sustainable wellbeing comes from putting our attention on each of the systems that work together to give us a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, a leader in happiness studies, has identified five essential elements that affect wellbeing: spiritual, physical, intellectual, rational, and emotional. By putting our attention on each of these areas of our lives, we are able to clear a path for growth and fulfillment.

As a systems engineer, I designed and managed complex systems, determining how separate components could be optimized to work with others to achieve maximum results. I apply the same approach to coaching. With intentional work and thoughtful design, my approach helps you optimize the systems at play in your own life so they operate fluidly and support your overall wellbeing.

Our work begins with an assessment of your signature strengths and sense of wellbeing, from your professional skills to your physical and emotional health. Using this profile as our framework, we work together to design a wellbeing system to leverage your strengths and optimize your greatest assets. We’ll also address barriers and their underlying causes, and develop those areas you wish to improve and refine.

Weight, diet and lifestyle have always been a struggle for me and the past two months with Allison was a miracle: she so beautifully has helped me unpacked information, ideas, and thoughts that do not serve me, and finding what works for me became so effortless. As an engineer, I have greatly enjoyed how Allison seamlessly applies Myers-Briggs Types theory, researched-backed coaching tools, and positive psychology in coaching. Now not only I have made personal progress I have also learned so much in areas I didn't have much exposure to. This is absolutely intellectually enlightening. I recommend Allison if you enjoy working with facts and logic.

About Allison

As a coach, I work to empower my clients to grow and strengthen positive traits that create optimal wellbeing. I am particularly passionate about partnering with leaders from the technology industry to build impactful and joyful lives through positive intervention.

I excel in the analytical work of evaluating, designing, and implementing systems that improve effectiveness and maximize returns. As an early and enthusiastic student of mathematics and engineering, I found my first professional calling in systems and human-centered design. I studied Economics, Mathematics, and Music in college, hold master’s degrees in Public Policy and Industrial Engineering, and worked in corporate and non-profit organizations with specialized knowledge in project management, health and humanitarian supply chain management, and Lean and Six Sigma principles.

Through a decade of global experiences in legal aid, public health, disaster response, and humanitarian logistics, I became interested in how we can achieve optimal results in the field of healthcare delivery, which led me to a greater interest in applying the same systems-oriented approach to individual wellbeing. Further scholarship has allowed me to integrate my fields of study and professional experiences into a unique, interdisciplinary approach to coaching.

I am a member and Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and serve on the Board of Directors for ICF Greater Austin Chapter.
